Jack A. Vernon, Ph.D. Recognition Night

Honoring ATA Co-Founder Dr. Jack Vernon

The American Tinnitus Association hosted "Jack A. Vernon, Ph.D. Recognition Night" at PGE Park in Portland, Oregon on Thursday, August, 27, 2009.

ATA members, scientists from the Oregon Health & Science University Tinnitus Clinic (the first medical clinic devoted exclusively to the treatment of tinnitus) and the National Center for Rehabilitative Auditory Research, as well as supportive family and friends in the Portland area, joined us for an evening of reflection and celebration for the years of service Dr. Vernon has dedicated to the tinnitus community and the influence his life has had on tinnitus research and treatment.

Dr. Vernon and ATA's newly appointed Executive Director Michael Malusevic shared the honor of throwing out the ceremonial first pitches. ATA had a well-stocked informational table, handed out hundreds of free earplugs, issues of Tinnitus Today and played a tinnitus awareness public service announcement over the PA system and video screen.

Thank you to everyone who attended this magical event and most of all, thank you to Dr. Jack Vernon!
