The San Francisco Tinnitus Support Group invites you to join them at their next meeting.
When: Tuesday, December 6, 2011 5:30 - 7:00 p.m.
Meetings tend to go later when we have a big group so plan accordingly
Where: The Hearing and Speech Center of Northern California 1234 Divisadero St., 2nd floor conference room, San Francisco, CA 94115. There is free parking behind the building.
Note from the group leader(s):
"We will have a guest speaker for our December meeting. He will demonstrate an instrument he developed, Meisch Temple Massager, that targets the mandibular region at your temples to create a soothing, relaxing sensation to ultimately reduce stress and relax the mandibular region and other areas around the head and neck. The reason we are interested in this device is to see if it can have an effect on tinnitus that may be related to somatosensory connections.This device is available at the ATA store and we may be asking some of you to participate in a mini study. You will be given this instrument to use for a period of time, fill out some forms and report back on it's effects, if any, on your tinnitus. For those of you who do not have tinnitus related to somatosensory input, there will be plenty of time for our usual discussion and sharing of information. We will also answer questions from last month's meeting about the Sound Cure device. Our meetings are free and open to the public and provide support for people with tinnitus and hyperacusis and their significant others. Current information on tinnitus treatments are presented along with discussion of coping with and managing the problems associated with tinnitus and hyperacusis. Please let us know if you will be attending the meeting.
Malvina Levy, Au.D. (mclevyaud@pacbell.net) and Tracy Peck, Au.D.
