CBT is a short term therapy designed to help patients acquire tools and techniques to help themselves feel less disturbed and more able to deal with adversities.

Mr. Nelson will share some basics of this approach and answer questions from the group. In addition to his private practice (improveyourmood.com) he is also a lecturer and teacher speaking at conferences and for professionals around the state. He has also taught professional development courses at Southern Methodist University and The University of Texas at Arlington. Mr. Nelson is also on staff at UT Southwestern where he is the Electroconvulsive Therapy Coordinator for the Department of Psychiatry.
