"How to Manage Your Tinnitus: A Workbook"

Message from Group Leader, Dhyan Cassie:
"Dear Friends,

At our last meeting we discussed the role of 'brain plasticity' - the ability of the brain to change to incoming stimuli. We found that the area of the brain affected in tinnitus is the hippocampus, which contains the Limbic System - the part of the brain that reacts normally with anger, anxiety and distress. It also includes happiness, contentment, love - our goal is to change the anxiety into a sense of well-being. Number one in achieving this exercise - exercising the body and the brain. Let's get started!

At our meeting in March we will look at the workbook 'How to Manage your Tinnitus: A Step-by-Step Workbook'. It is about 130 pages long but I will summarize it for you. There are some great topics - how to change thoughts and feelings, getting better sleep, deep breathing, etc.

There is some part of the workbook which will apply to you and will bring you greater control over your tinnitus and help with other problems that impede you from enjoying life to its fullest.

I hope you can come and share with us.

Sincerely, Dhyan"
