Message from Group Leader, Dhyan Cassie:
"Dear Friends,

Last month we discussed the surgical options for tinnitus. There are about seven procedures that can possibly alleviate tinnitus. As we studied them, it became obvious they are only appropriate if you have a complete hearing loss (cochlear implant), Parkinson’s (deep brain stimulation), otosclerosis (stapedectomy) or some other pathology not related to tinnitus. It is not worth a serious invasive procedure on the chance that it may help the tinnitus.

But, do not be dismayed. We know there are non-invasive treatments, all having to do with sound therapy. We have discussed that many times and will continue to do so. In the meantime, let’s take a visit to the Mayo Clinic and see what they do.

The Mayo Clinic is in Minnesota and that is an expensive trip. We can do that right at the First Presbyterian Church in Ewing on June 9th. We will learn all about the admission procedures to the Mayo Tinnitus Clinic, the evaluation and the treatment options. There may be some surprises!

We look forward to seeing you on June 9th and expect you to find relief and hope so your tinnitus will not be so bothersome this summer.

Sincerely,  Dhyan"
