The changing face of healthcare today reveals new challenges in diagnosing and treating hearing loss. With the advanced tools and technology available today, hearing health professionals are required to have a more in-depth knowledge of electrophysiological and neuroanatomical development, genetic and syndromic anomalies, ototoxic (including noise) and otoprotective agents, as well as (re)habilitative strategies. Our speakers will give a unique perspective on the anatomical intricacies that affect the auditory system, ototoxicity monitoring and otoprotection, and amplification strategies. In addition, unique case histories will be presented, as well as a panel discussion for dealing with challenging amplification situations. Throughout, the influence of music in brain development, auditory perception, and amplification will be infused into the discussion.
