Topic/Guest Speaker: Serenade Tinnitus Treatment by SoundCure with Beth Berlage
The Serenade system consists of a hand-held patient device to generate sound therapy, earphones and proprietary acoustic treatment that research has suggested may address the underlying neurological cause of tinnitus. This approach was developed by a team with deep scientific understanding of the neurophysiology of tinnitus and how the brain processes sound. It is designed to give you immediate relief and to be used as part of a long-term treatment program when appropriate.
Beth Burlage is the Remote Customer Trainer/Sales Manager for SoundCure. She joined SoundCure in April 2012. She earned her Master's degree in Linguistics in 2005 from Ohio University and her Doctor of Audiology from the University of Cincinnati in 2010. Her clinical work experience includes providing audiological services to patients at the Veteran's Affairs Medical Center with an emphasis on NIHL, presbycusis, tinnitus, TBI and vestibular issues. She has also contributed to some hearing conservation and other research through Wright Patterson Air Force Base. Beth also served as a customer trainer for a hearing instrument manufacturer by conducting seminars and presentations for industry professionals. She currently provides training and fitting assistance of the SoundCure Serenade to hearing professionals throughout the country.
