What is the pitch of your tinnitus? Come and find out!
Message from Group Leader, Dhyan Cassie:
"Dear Friends:
At our September meeting we discussed SoundCure, a new device made for alleviating tinnitus. The device is worn like an iPod and emits a sound around the pitch of your tinnitus. It activates the surrounding neurons and it is meant to activate brain activity which may reduce the perception of tinnitus. I have not had experience with this device and have not heard feed-back from patients. The cost is around $2,000 so if you decide to try it, please obtain it on a trial basis.
Since there are several devices on the market that depend on the frequency of your tinnitus, we will talk about this at our next meeting. I will bring equipment that will produce the various tones and we can find out what the pitch of your tinnitus is.
Once again, bring your audiograms (hearing test results) and we will relate your results to the pitch of your tinnitus.
The purpose of our meetings is to share positive experiences and to discuss products that are found on the Internet or heard in advertisements. Please bring any information you have found and we will discuss whether it is a legitimate product for helping tinnitus.
Sincerely, Dhyan Cassie"
