Speaker:
Jeff Carroll, Ph.D. is the director of the Tinnitus and Hyperacusis Treatment Center at the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Carroll holds a B.S. from UC San Diego in Bioengineering and a PhD from UC Irvine in Biomedical Engineering. Dr. Carroll has over seven years of experience in hearing disorder research with an emphasis on cochlear implants and tinnitus. The Tinnitus and Hyperacusis Treatment Center has seen patients from all over the world, the United States, and locally. Dr. Carroll specializes in a form of therapy known as habituation that aims to correct an inappropriate neural response to a tinnitus signal. The Center at UC Irvine is supported by the expertise of a neurotologist, Hamid Djalilian, M.D. and audiologists, Alicia Traktman, Au.D. and Ginger Stickney, Ph.D.
