Topic:
Vagus Nerve Stimulation: Is This the Cure We are Waiting for?

Note from group leader, Dhyan Cassie:
"Dear Friends,

We have taken the last two meetings to talk about hearing aids that are specifically made for tinnitus relief. Not all of you have hearing loss, but most adults do have some auditory nerve damage. Who would doubt it with all the noise we hear! If you haven't had your hearing tested within the last year, you should consider it.

There has been a lot of buzz - sorry for using that word - about vagus nerve stimulation for relief of tinnitus. How far along is the research? How does it work? Is this the cure we are all looking for? I will do as much research as I can and we will discuss it at the next meeting.

There will also be a time for your questions about various treatments you have heard about. There are people out there, unfortunately, who know tinnitus patients are looking for a cure and a $29 bottle with money back guaranteed is just waiting for you to try. I don't think anyone who comes to our meetings is going to be taken in by any of these bogus claims but it is good to discuss them.

I hope you can attend!"
