We will have a special guest speaker for our meeting this month. Dr. Robert Sweetow, who is well known in the field of tinnitus, will give a talk entitled "New Theories on the Biologic and Behavioral Manifestations of Tinnitus". Dr. Sweetow has published many articles on tinnitus and has lectured world wide. He began the tinnitus program at The Hearing and Speech Center in the 80's and was director of Audiology before going to UCSF where he continued his work with tinnitus and other hearing related problems. Dr. Sweetow has been Professor of Otolaryngology and Audiology at UCSF for many years and is a wonderful speaker. He has some interesting new theories on tinnitus and there will be time for questions and discussion.
I will be giving a lecture on tinnitus for the HLAA group on Saturday May 14 in the East Bay at Kaiser Hospital, Oakland, at 10:15 a.m. If you need more details, send me an email (mlevy@hearingspeech.org).

Questions and discussions are always a part of our tinnitus group and we encourage everyone to share his/her concerns.
Our meetings are free and open to the public and provide support for people with tinnitus and hyperacusis and their significant others. Current information on tinnitus treatments are presented along with discussion of coping with and managing the problems associated with tinnitus and hyperacusis.
