Academy Research Conference (ARC) 2011 - Current Trends in the Evaluation and Treatment of Tinnitus

The Academy Research Conference takes place on the opening day of AudiologyNOW! in Chicago, IL. This conference, chaired by Anthony Cacace, Ph.D., will draw from the rich literature on tinnitus to explore the latest information that helps translate our scientific understanding into evaluation and treatment. Researchers in tinnitus and audiologists in clinical practice who work with patients with this common but challenging condition will not want to miss this conference.

Tinnitus Treatment Education for Audiologists

The Tinnitus Practitioners Association, a tinnitus organization for and by audiologists, has recently completed their 5th educational course in Norfolk, VA with enthusiastic response from the participants. The TPA educational courses provide a comprehensive and practical approach to tinnitus treatment in an audiological setting. The next course will be held in New Orleans, LA on October 15-16.

"Breakthroughs to Cures"

This fall the Myelin Repair Foundation will be hosting two online “idea sourcing” events called "Breakthroughs to Cures" which are designed to explore creative ways to accelerate the pace of medical research and shorten the time to market for new medicines for all diseases.

The two events will take place respectively on October 7-8 and November 9-10 and are open to the public.

American Tinnitus Association supports this effort since we are committed to accelerating the cure and treatments for tinnitus.

18th-Annual Conference on Management of the Tinnitus Patient

The University of Iowa, Department of Otolaryngology — Head and Neck Surgery, and Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, have announced its 18th-Annual Conference on Management of the Tinnitus Patient, from September 16 - 18 to provide a review of current evaluation and management strategies for the treatment of tinnitus.
