Pulsatile tinnitus is the perception of a rhythmical noise that is synchronous with the patient's heartbeat. Pulsatile tinnitus is rare and distinguishable from the more common, "regular" form of tinnitus. There are many possible pulsatile tinnitus causes. It is important for patients to get adequate, thorough and compassionate care. In some cases, unlike "regular" tinnitus, the underlying cause of pulsatile tinnitus may be identified and treated.
