Board of Directors

The American Tinnitus Association Board of Directors is comprised of healthcare providers, researchers, and people living with tinnitus, reflecting its roots which can be traced to 1971 when tinnitus patient Charles Unice, MD, sought out Jack Vernon, PhD, the only researcher in the United States who was investigating tinnitus at that time. That meeting led to the development of the first masking device for tinnitus and a mission focused on improving the quality of life for patients as researchers continue to investigate possible cures and better treatments.

Today, the ATA board continues to engage patients, researchers, and healthcare providers to ensure that research continues to be funded and that patients are offered meaningful guidance and care for tinnitus.
