Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, most tinnitus support groups are not meeting in person. Many groups, however, are meeting online and some are open access.
Please contact the group leader directly to confirm upcoming meeting dates and times. For online groups, you will need to register in advance with the leader to receive a link to join a meeting.
Note: Contact information is listed solely for individuals with tinnitus, not individuals or entities interested in soliciting business. If you're a researcher, inquiries about tinnitus patients should be directed to tinnitus@ata.org. For information on advertising, contact editor@ata.org.
Groups are arranged according to (1) open-access online groups, followed by (2) online groups open to current members or individuals living within reasonable distance to the regular in-person location, and (3) groups that are on hiatus, or meeting intermittently, during the pandemic.
If you’re interested in starting a group, the ATA provides guidance and resources, including a support group manual. Contact tinnitus@ata.org if you’d like more information.
Disclaimer: Each support group referenced here is independently operated and led by volunteer/s who wish to provide support to the tinnitus community. The American Tinnitus Association (ATA) does not sponsor or endorse their activities and expressly disclaims any responsibility for the conduct of support groups listed here or the information they may provide. The ATA is not a healthcare provider and you should consult with a primary care physician or hearing health professional for qualified medical advice on tinnitus or related hearing disorders. Tinnitus support groups are not intended as a substitute for qualified medical and/or mental health support.
Open Access Online Tinnitus Support Groups
The support groups in this section are open access, enabling anyone to join a meeting. If you wish to participate, contact the group leader via email in advance to register and receive a link. Please be aware that the number of registrants per meeting may be capped so participation is not guaranteed.

- Some groups do not schedule their meetings far in advance due to leader availability and/or to allow for flexibility when scheduling speakers or for other reasons. It is important to double-check the ATA Events calendar for the most up-to-date information on Support Group/Self-Help meetings.
- New groups form all the time, so be sure to check back frequently if you don’t see one in your area.
- If you don’t see a group in your area, but want to connect with a support system, ATA also has Help Network volunteers who provide one-on-one email and phone support and education. You can view that listing here.
