Open Access Internet CBT Program Accepting Participants
The ATA is excited to announce that Tackling Tinnitus, and online cognitive behavioral therapy (iCBT) intervention for tinnitus, is available in the United States and is accepting participants to continue to study its effectiveness in reducing the negative impact of tinnitus on the daily life. The program, offered in English and Spanish, is free and can be done from the comfort of one’s home.
CBT is a research-based tinnitus treatment endorsed by the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery. ICBT is being developed to ensure that the therapy is more readily available to the general public, particularly those living in areas without access to qualified therapists.
The work was funded by the National Institute on Deafness and Communication Disorders (NIDCD) of the National Institute of Health (NIH) under award number R21 DC017214.
